Although official pickup matches on Mallard Point's tennis courts have not yet been organized, it is available for all resident use. If you'd like to organize a match, you might ask for players in our Facebook Private Group.
The tennis courts were refurbished in the Fall of 2013 and look great. A total of about $63,000 was spent. In an effort to protect our investment and out of courtesy to persons wishing to play tennis, we respectfully ask that all residents use the courts only for the activity of playing tennis. In the past we have had difficulty trying to prevent improper uses of the courts including the following: bicycle riding, skateboardking, playing "fetch" with dogs, kids hanging on the tennis court nets, playing soccer, and individuals from outside the neighborhood coming here to play on the courts. Many of these activities can cause damage to the tennis courts as well as prevent residents who want to play tennis from playing. Therefore, the Parks and Recreation committee approved installing locks on the tennis courts. With the consent of the Mallard Point Board, locks were installe atminimal cost to the neighborhood. We will begin utilizing the locks September 21, 2013. Any Mallard Point household wishing to obtain a key may do so by contacting Robert Prinzing of the Parks and REcreation committee at 859-538-5500. One key will be issued to every household requesting one. If the initial key is lost, another one may be requested for a $10.00 fee. Residents who use the tennis courts are asked to shut and lock the gates after every use. Residents who use the tennis courts are asked to shut and lock the gates after every use. Within the last couple of weeks, we have also had a problem with deer getting onto the tennis courts, which could potentially damage them. The closing of the gates after every use will also prevent these incidents from occurring.
